Job Details:
The South African Air Force has opened applications for the Military Skills Development System for their 2022 programme. There is a general programme as well as an intake for people who want to train to be Engineers, Pilots, and Navigators.

The SA Air Force intends to capacitate the candidates to be highly skilled and disciplined military professionals and patriotic citizens.

Requirements for:
General Training Programme:
- 18–22 Years: Completed Grade 12 or N3 with 6 subjects including two languages
- or 22–26 Years if in possession of a 3 year Tertiary qualification (Degree, National Diploma or N6 with N4 and N5 prescripts)
- RSA Citizen (no dual citizenship)
- Preferably Single
- Not Area Bound
- No Criminal Record
- Comply with medical fitness requirements for appointment in the SANDF
Requirements for:
Pilots/Navigators:
- Members with Commercial Pilots License (CPL) not older than 24 years with Mathematics and Physical Science (Level 4)
- or 22 – 26 Years if in possession of a relevant Tertiary qualification (Degree, N Diploma or N4, N5, N6 prescripts) completed Grade 12 with Level – 4 (Mathematics and physical science)
- or 18–24 Years: Completed Grade 12 or N3 (Technical) with 6 subjects of which two must be languages Mathematics and Physical Science minimum ( Level – 4)
- No Hearing Impairment (No hearing aid)
- Have 6/6-eye vision (No contact lenses or corrective lenses or surgery)
- Minimum Height –1600mm,
- Maximum Height –1900mm
- Minimum Weight – 53kg;
- Maximum Weight- 102kg
Requirements for:
Engineers:
- 18–24 Years: Completed Grade 12
- or 22 – 26 Years if in possession of a relevant Tertiary qualification (Degree, N Diploma or N4, N5, N6 prescripts) and completed Grade 12 with Level – 6 Mathematics and physical science
- English Level-5
- Admission Point Score (APS) of 35 excluding Life Orientation

Technical Trade:
- 18 to 22 Years Completed Grade12 or N3 with 6 subjects of which two must be languages
- 22 to 26 Years if in possession of N4, N5, and N6 (Technical subjects) Mathematics and Physical Science minimum level 3
