Bursary Description
Seriti is offering bursaries for students at the University of Science or the University of Technology in the below-mentioned fields of study.
Fields of study:
- Electrical (Heavy Current) & Mechanical Engineering: BSc/BEng/NDip/AdvDip – (2nd, 3rd, 4th year)
- Survey: Bachelor of Mine Surveying, BTech, NDip – (Final year)
- Geology: BTech/BSc Geology – (Hons)
- Occupational hygiene (VOHE): (major in Occupational Hygiene) – (Final year)
- BSc Mining/Engineering/BTech Science – (Final year)
- Rock Engineer: BSc Engineering (Mining) – (Final year/Hons)
- BSc Geology (Hons)/BEng Tech – (Final year/Hons)
- Metallurgy: BSc Eng/BEng/BTech in extractive metallurgy – (2nd, 3rd, 4th year)
- Chemical engineering – (2nd, 3rd, 4th year)
- Finance: Bachelor of Commerce in Finance – (2nd year)
- Human Resources: Bachelor of Commerce in Human Resource/Labour Law/related qualification – (2nd year)
- Environment: BSc Environmental related/BTech – (Final year)
- Corporate & Community Relations: BA Communication Science/Public Relations equivalent – (Final year)
Application Requirements (Who can apply?):
- Students who are currently in their 2nd, 3rd, 4th year of study
- Students already registered at an accredited tertiary institution
- Results above 60%
- Bursaries will not be awarded to students studying a bridging course/foundation program
- Valid South African ID
- Copy of 2022 Academic record
- Brief CV
The bursary will cover:
- Accommodation allowance
- Meal allowance
- Book allowance
- Tuition fees for 2023 (excluding the previous year’s failed subjects/modules or 2022 outstanding tuition fees including interest charged
Bursary Terms & Conditions:
- Students must pass studies
- Obligation to provide vacation work if required
- Work back obligation for students upon completion of their studies
- Specific focus will be placed on students from our communities
- Applicants that are beneficiaries of any other Bursary Programme and/or sponsorship will not be considered
