Learnership Description

A practical work experience in a 12-month programme for a trainee software developer. The successful applicant will undergo a screening assessment before being shortlisted for an interview.

Role requirement:

• Knowledge / experience in front end technologies HTML ,CSS and JavaScript
• One or more of the following backend languages C#, Java or Python
• Knowledge of basic SQL, MYSQL, Postgress SQL (a candidate needs to know the structure of a relational database and be able to write basic SQL queries)
• Basic knowledge of APIs
• Basic knowledge of cloud computing and DevOps policies and procedures would be advantageous

Competencies:

• Must be 18 – 35
• Must not be studying part-time or full time
• Must be living in and around Cape Town
• Must not be employed
• Must not have been in any government-funded programme ( YES Programme)
• Positive, can-do attitude
• Confidence (as the team will be engaging with external stakeholders with regards to work delivery)
• High cognitive ability – we need people that can hit the ground running and absorb vast, complex information in a short space of time
• Willingness to learn and goes the extra mile with an ability to self-educate
• Proficient in communicating in the English language
• Analytical minded and logical thinkers who are challenged to solve complex problems.
