Internship Description
Position Title: Group Operations and Technology Intern
You’ll be part of the Group Operations and Technology team in South Africa. We work with various technologies to provide IT services and solutions that benefit various units of the bank. We work with specialists from different business units in South Africa, as well as in other Regions.
Responsibilities:
We’re looking for a Group Operations and Technology intern who will:
- provide desktop and application support to the local office.
- provide 1st-level support for various servers and networking components.
- identify problems, troubleshoot, and deliver strategic solutions to the business.
- effectively collaborate and communicate with other team members to achieve a common goal.
- conduct code reviews and test software as needed, along with participation in application architecture and design, and other phases of SDLC.
- provide technology solutions that will solve business problems and strengthen our position as digital leaders in financial services.
- design, plan and deliver sustainable solutions using modern programming languages.
- provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new software projects and initiatives to support and enhance our existing applications.
- see that proper operational controls and procedures are followed all the time.
Requirements:
- Degree in: IT or equivalent with a focus on Computer Science or Information Technology
- basic understanding of networking and cloud solutions
- basic understanding of Java, Python and Databases
- know-how to apply standards, methods, techniques, and templates as defined by our SDLC [for example, code repository handling, code inspection]
- design, plan and deliver solutions in a large-scale enterprise environment
- Adaptable; enjoys working across different functions and teams (local and global)
